Keyboard Shortcuts¶
Navigate the application quickly using keyboard shortcuts - no mouse required.
This guide covers all keyboard shortcuts available in the Home Security Intelligence dashboard. Using these shortcuts will help you navigate faster and work more efficiently.
Command Palette¶
The command palette provides quick access to all navigation options in one place. It is the fastest way to jump between pages.
Opening the Command Palette¶

Using the Command Palette¶
When the command palette opens:
- Type to search - Start typing to filter available destinations
- Navigate results - Use
Arrow UpandArrow Downto select - Select destination - Press
Enterto navigate to the selected page - Close without action - Press
Escapeto close
The command palette searches both page names and keywords. For example:
- Type "home" to find Dashboard
- Type "stats" to find Analytics
- Type "health" to find System monitoring
Available Commands¶

Showing Keyboard Shortcuts Help¶
Press ? (question mark) anywhere in the application to open the keyboard shortcuts reference modal. This shows all available shortcuts organized by category.
Press Escape to close the help modal.
Global Shortcuts¶
These shortcuts work anywhere in the application (except when typing in text fields).

Navigation Shortcuts (Chord Commands)¶
Navigation uses "chord" shortcuts - press g followed by another key within 1 second to navigate.

How to use: Press g, release it, then press the second key. Both keys must be pressed within 1 second.
Example: To go to the Timeline page:
- Press and release
g - Within 1 second, press
t - You will be navigated to the Timeline page
List Navigation¶
When viewing lists (like the Activity Feed or Event Timeline), use these shortcuts to navigate items.

These Vim-style shortcuts (j/k) allow efficient navigation without moving your hands from the home row.
Modal Shortcuts¶
When viewing modals or dialogs:

When viewing images in the full-screen lightbox:

When the video player is focused:

Search Bar Shortcuts¶
When the search bar is focused:

Important Notes¶
Shortcuts Are Disabled When Typing¶
Keyboard shortcuts are automatically disabled when you are:
- Typing in an input field
- Typing in a text area
- Using any editable content
This prevents accidental navigation while entering text.

Accessibility¶
All keyboard shortcuts are designed to complement mouse/touch navigation, not replace it. If you prefer using a mouse or touchscreen, all features remain accessible through those input methods.
